Siberian Tigers

Animal's Body: size, color, type of covering and special body parts.

Male siberian tigers usually weigh about 500 pounds and females weigh about 350 pounds. They are from 8 to 11 feet long.

Siberian tigers have dark brown stripes on an orange coat of fur. They use their coats as camouflage.

Siberian tigers have sharp teeth.

These tigers have very good vision and hearing. They also have a powerful sense of smell.

A tigers front legs and shoulders are very muscular. Their front paws are also very muscular and have long, sharp, retractable claws. This allows the tiger to grab and hold onto their prey.

 

Animal's Habitat: location in the world they live, type of habitat, and type of home.

Tigers are found only on the continent of Asia.

Siberian tigers live in forests. They can also be found in bushes, grass and next to rivers.

 

Animals Living Habits: eating, sleeping and moving.

Tigers eats other animals. These includes: monkeys, chickens, deer, porcupines, tortoises, fish and frogs. They usually hunt during the night. They lie and wait for prey, then creep close enough to attack by jumping and pouncing on their victim.

Tigers sleep after eating prey. They need the shade from trees or tall brush to be cool enough to sleep.

Tigers are not fast runners. This is because their back legs are longer than their front legs. This makes them very good at jumping, but poor at running.

A tiger roar can be heard over a mile away!

A tiger meal may consist of 100 pounds of meat! That's like 400 hamburgers!

Tigers live alone. They do not like to be around other tigers.
