Dragonflies

 

Description:

Dragonflies have 6 legs.

Their body has 3 parts.

They have 4 large wings.


A dragonfly's life cycle has 3 stages:

Stage 1: Eggs
Stage 2: Nymph
Stage 3: Adult


Defense:

Dragonflies use their big eyes to see in all directions.

When they see danger they fly away.


Diet:

Dragonflies eat other insects.

They usually hunt during the day.


Habitat:

Dragonflies live near ponds, streams and lakes.


Cool facts:

  • Dragonflies have 5 eyes.
  • They are called "dragonflies" because they look like small flying dragons.
  • Dragonflies make a loud buzzing sound when they fly.
