Susan B. Anthony

Susan B. Anthony was born February 15, 1820 in Adams, Massachusetts.

She died March 13, 1906.

Accomplishments
 

She was famous because she was a fighter for woman's rights.

Young Life and Family
 

Susan grew up in a Quaker family. At age four she started to read books. She loved to read all different kinds of things.

She learned to believe that all people should be treated equally.

Adult Life
 

She fought for the end of slavery. She also fought for former slaves to have the right to vote.

In 1860 she helped pass a law that gave women the right to own property. She also fought for women to have the right to vote.

14 years after her death the 19th amendment was added to the constitution which gave women the right to vote. It was called the "Anthony Amendment."
