Mother Jones was known as "the miner's angel." This is because she was always working to help miners have the right to good pay and working conditions in the mines. To mine owners she was known as the "most dangerous woman in America." She was also concerned about children having to work in mills. She led a march of 300 children who worked in mills. They marched from the mills in Pennsylvania to Theodore Roosevelt's home in New York. The march lasted a week. |
