Michael Jordan was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York.

He is still alive.

Accomplishments
 

Michael Jordan is famous because he is a professional basketball player.

Young Life and Family
 

At age two Michael and his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.

In his childhood Michael was not that tall. He did not consider sports that much.

In high school he grew very tall. He played a lot of basketball. He won the High School Player of the Year award.

Adult Life
 

Michael earned a scholarship to the University of North Carolina. He was the college player of the year for the 1983-1984 season.

In 1984 he led the United States basketball team to a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

He did not finish college. The NBA drafted him.

Michael played for the Chicago Bulls for many years. The Bulls won 6 NBA championships.

He played professional baseball for two years. His dad, who was murdered, had loved baseball.

He is considered the greatest player of all time.
