John had a very hard childhood. John's parents were rarely home, and when they were they liked being alone. Because of this, John lived with his Aunt Mary and Uncle George. In 1955 his Uncle George died.

John started a band called The Quarry Men. The band later become The Beatles. The other members of The Beatles were Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They were the most famous rock and roll band ever. They played music in the 1960's. In 1970 The Beatles broke up. John made music with his wife Yoko Ono until his death in 1980. He was shot as he was walking into his home. He was shot by David Mark Chapman. |
