Paul's father was a silversmith. A silversmith is a person who works with metal and makes spoons, forks, knifes, and other things. His father was French. Paul never really learned French. He wanted to be an American. |

When he was 19 his father died. Paul took over the silversmith business. People found him to be a fine silversmith. Paul was a patriot. A patriot was a person who wanted independence from Britain. He did many things to protest against the British. He dressed as an Indian and dumped chests of British tea into the Boston harbor. This became known as the "Boston Tea Party." On the night of April 18, 1775 the British army was planing a surprise attack. Paul learned of the attack and rode to warn people. This was Paul Paul Revere's "Midnight Ride." He yelled "The British are coming, the British are coming." |
