Theodore was born into a wealthy family. He was schooled at home, and so he did not go to an elementary school. He was sick as a child and had asthma. Roosevelt went to Harvard University. His father told him to exercise to feel better, and so started boxing as a college student. |

Adult
Life

Theodore did many things as an adult. He lived in the western United States and became a cowboy. He fought in the Spanish-American War. He was governor of New York. He was elected president in 1900. He served two four year terms from 1901 to 1909. A sad fact is that in 1884 his mother and wife died on the same day. He died at age 60. |
