What are tornadoes?
A tornado is a storm of very strong winds. They look like a funnel.

What causes tornadoes?
Tornadoes form when cold and warm air meet each other. They usually form during thunderstorms.

What types of tornadoes are there?

There are 6 types of tornadoes: light, moderate, considerable, severe, devastating and incredibly powerful.

Cool Facts:

The word "tornado" came from the Spanish word "tronada."

Other names for tornadoes are "twisters" and "cyclones."
