Bookmark in the Park Event a Success! Nancy Carlson, author and illustrator of over 40 delightful children's' books including the Harriet the Pig and Loudmouth George series, shared her stories and drawings with St. Louis Park children and parents at Aquila School on April 15.  Over 200 enthralled guests heard Nancy talk about the inspiration for her stories; they also received some excellent tips for doing their own drawings. In addition to learning about her books and seeing her draw, over 140 children took home a signed copy of her book, "I Like Me." The event was sponsored by the Bookmark in the Park committee. This group of local citizens works to promote reading. Each year the committee picks a book for the community to read and discuss. This year's official book selection is "The Monument" by Gary Paulson. You can find out more about Bookmark by going to the web site at www.slpschools.org/psi/bookmark.
