Community Education Youth Programs

A complete listing of youth classes and activities can be found in the Community Education catalog, mailed to all St. Louis Park homes three times a year: Mid August, late December and early March. If you would like to have a catalog mailed to you, call 952-928-6777.

Aquatics
Red Cross swim lessons, water exercise, family recreational swim, lap swim, and synchronized swimming are offered at the Central Pool, year round, for infants-adults.

Gymnastics
Park Gymnastics is a recreational gymnastic program with an emphasis on fun! Spring and summer sessions are offered for beginners through advanced gymnasts at Central Community Center Instruction is given on the balance beam, vault and floor exercise. Classes are held in the Central Gymnastics Gym.

Junior High DropZone
The DropZone is a recreational and educational drop-in program at the Junior High that's open Monday through Friday from 2:40-4:30 p.m. Membership includes unlimited attendance, activity bus transportation, homework help and teacher-led tutoring.

Kids' Place School-Age Care
The Kids' Place School-Age Program provides child care for children in grades K-6 before and after school and on school release days. It is an interactive, age appropriate enrichment program based on child choice activities. Under the supervision of a well-qualified and caring staff, children have many opportunities to develop and explore their interests and talents. Convenient school locations include Central Community Center, Aquila and Peter Hobart Primary Centers and Cedar Manor and Susan Lindgren Intermediate Centers. Hours on traditional school days are 6:30 until school start time and the end of school day until 6:00 PM. Breakfast and an afternoon snack are provided. Parks & Recreation
A wide variety of leisure and athletic activities are available through the City's Parks and Recreation department and Westwood Hills Nature Center. Complete class listings can be found in the Parks & Recreation and Westwood Hills Nature Center catalog mailed to all St. Louis Park homes three times a year: Mid August, mid November and early march. Summer Learning & Play
This program provides a wide variety of classes for children, from infants through age 16 in areas such as reading, math. art, music, science, swim instruction, sports and gymnastics.
