Amity Scholar Program

Amity Scholars are young people from all over the world who enter your child’s life in the PSI classroom in a variety of ways:

o Cultural Ambassadors from their home country who enrich our students with a global perspective from an early age.

o Models in Language: Their love of their native language (Spanish) and culture give the classroom an additional native speaker for the immersion student to model.

o Teaching Assistants Interacting in the classroom enable a variety of teaching methods to be used.

  • Separation into small groups to provide for more individual attention.
  • Rotating amongst all children for more 1:1 attention.
  • Additional support during large group activities.
  • YOU: Your involvement is critical to the success
    of this program.

The Amity Scholar Program, which is entering its third year at PSI, is supported and funded by the PTO (Parent/Teacher Organization), which is funded directly by parents. YOU are needed and challenged to creatively participate in this program during your child’s years at PSI. There are many opportunities to become involved, ranging from hosting a scholar for part of the school year, to inviting a scholar to share a meal at your home, to supporting fund-raising efforts.
