Site Council Update

Noticias de la Escuela – March 2004

With the new School Board members in place, Board Liaisons have been re-assigned for school Site Councils. We welcome newly elected school board member Rolf Peterson to PSI’s Site Council. Thank you to Jim Yarosh and all his contributions.

This past month SC met with District Business Manager, Jeff Priess to gain background on the districts’ Budget. Acting Superintendent, Dan Walker was also in attendance and was available for discussion on site issues of signage and building maintenance/cleaning. Minutes of this meeting are available in the school office.

Dan Walker was also in attendance this month for Strategic Planning Meeting #4. Our goals have been very specific and we are identifying student objectives and staff/parent strategies all in relation to student and school achievement and goal setting. All objectives and strategies are based on PSI’s mission statement.

SC has been participating in the Superintendent search by way of group emails of leadership qualities that will be voiced during the focus group Consultant Session on March 17th, where in addition, there will be four site council representatives present.

The next SC meetings are March 18th and April 22nd.
