Your help is needed!

Lunchroom/Playground Volunteers - We welcome new and returning volunteers everyday. Our parent volunteers help ensure a good experience for everyone in the cafeteria and on the playground! Thank You.

Calling all Thespians - If you have experience with drama and are willing to share your time and talents with our students, please call or e-mail your volunteer coordinators.

Amity brochure design - We are looking for assistance with out new Amity brochure. If you have experience with layout & design, please let us know.

Phone Tree Coordinator - We are looking for someone to organize and facilitate a PSI parent phone tree for purposes of sharing important information regarding PTO and other school-related events throughout the year. Contact the coordinators if you are interested.

There are many fun projects to work on throughout the year...come join the fun!

All School Events

Spring Picnic
May. An evening event including all current and incoming Kinder PSI families. Volunteers needed for pre-planning, setup, cleanup, greeting and meeting families.

Talent Show
Spring. Volunteers are needed for production support.

Imagination/Inventors Fair
March. Creative and scientific inventions by students K-6. Volunteers needed.

Parktacular Parade
June. Annual community event. Volunteers needed to decorate float and walk in parade.

Music Concert(s)
Spring. Volunteers needed.

Track and Field Day
Last week of school. Volunteers needed.

Yearbook
Ongoing. Snapshots of school events/activities needed. Collection box in office.

Transition Meetings
April/May. Parent meetings held by grade level to discuss transition to next grade.

Kindergarten
Welcome Letters

October/November. Volunteers needed to distribute and collect letters to/from incoming families.

Newsletter
Monthly. Volunteers needed to assist editor, write articles, copy and distribute newsletter.

PSI Spirit Wear Sales
(Lead Needed)

School Day Help

Thursday Folders
Thursday mornings. Volunteers needed to stuff student folders with weekly information for parents and families.

Lunchroom/Playground
Daily, 11-12:30. Volunteers needed to help with lunchtime and recess.

Lost and Found
Ongoing. Management of student’s lost items until claimed or donated.

Picture Day
Fall and Spring. Volunteers needed to help students through picture taking process – day of re-take day.

School Store
Volunteers needed to help occasional Fridays during lunch.

Media Center
Weekly. Volunteers needed to assist with classroom check-out, shelving and miscellaneous duties

Teacher/Staff Help

Room Parents (All)
Ongoing. Volunteers needed to work with teachers and coordinate classroom volunteers as needed. Room Parents needed for classrooms in each grade level as well as Music, Media, Art, Gym and English departments.

Teacher Conference Meals
November/April. Potluck dishes for teachers and staff.

Teacher Appreciation Week
(Lead/Volunteers needed)
May. Fun surprises/potluck dishes for teachers and staff.

Teacher Treats
Monthly. Volunteers needed to provide treats for staff lounge.

Vision Hearing Checks
Volunteers needed.

Music Testing
Volunteers needed.

Amity Committee

Hosting
From September–December and January–June. Provide housing for an Amity scholar. Volunteers needed.

Education
Working with the high school to arrange classes for the amity students to take.

Public Relations
Overall PR to host families.

Miscellaneous
Projects like collecting medical insurance numbers, answering questions on the policies, coordination of host family/intern social events, transportation, Aunt/Uncle program…

Fundraising

Book Fairs
Scheduled during the Fall and Spring. Volunteers needed for set-up, sales and cleanup.

Leer-A-Thon
November. This is the main student fundraising event of the year. Volunteers are needed to distribute and tally forms, publicity and prize hunting.

Silent Auction
March. Main parent fund-raising event. Volunteers needed for pre-planning, donation solicitation, setup, help during event, and cleanup.

Boxtops, Soup Labels, Etc.
Ongoing collection.

Grant Writing
Ongoing. Volunteers needed with grant writing experience.
