Learning the Language

Learning the Language
A documentary on the Immersion Experience.

Finally, a tool that
explains what
Language Immersion
is, and how it works.

Over the past year and a half a group of PSI parents have produced
a documentary that explores the method of foreign language immersion education in America. We went into the PSI classrooms to document
how language is acquired through the immersion experience. The video uses interviews with PSI students, their parents and PSI staff to demonstrate its success and tell the story behind this increasingly
popular form of language education.

This 18 minute action packed film can be used as a way to introduce Immersion to new, incoming parents as well as help in the preparation and writing of grant submissions. It covers school and district research on Immersion and can be a fundamental presentation tool on Immersion Education that can be used in both formal and informal settings. And since the information is universal to all Immersion programs, anyone who is interested in this form of foreign language study will benefit from it.

The makers of this video wish to graciously thank the collaboration
of the PSI Site Council, and the PSI PTO for their support
throughout this process.

The talent featured on this video is YOU! The cast is made up entirely of teachers, administrators, parents and students. The subject, which is
close to all of our hearts, was made with loving care, great pride and
full appreciation for the goals of immersion education.
