St. Louis Park Public Schools unveiled a new COVID-19 Dashboard on Wednesday, October 21 that will inform families on important data points including active positive cases, number of individuals who are currently quarantining, and the number of individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 and have returned to school. Data will be shared for both students and staff and will be updated every Wednesday.
Beginning Monday, November 16, students in Grades K-5 attending St. Louis Park Public Schools will transition to either the full-day hybrid learning model or the Distance Learning Academy. St. Louis Park Public Schools is also providing Virtual Information Sessions via Zoom on Thursday, October 22 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. to share information about the transition and educational delivery models.
A new Elementary Family Handbook has been published and is now available on each of the four elementary school websites under both the Parent Resources tab and the Find it Fast section. The handbook includes important contact information, quick facts about each school, and important school board policies that impact students and families.
Beginning October 5, students in grades 3-5 will join students in grades K-2 and return to school in a hybrid model, with a combination of learning at school and from home, following the state’s data-driven plan to safely reopen schools based on county case rates of COVID-19. As schools reopen, we will continue to prioritize a safe learning environment for students, teachers, staff, families, and the greater community.
Starting Monday, October 5, when students in grades 3-5 move to the Hybrid model, there will be changes to how students receive free meals from the School Nutrition Department. For students in grades 6-12, who will still be in a distance learning model, free meals will still be available at the six school sites on Mondays or Wednesdays, 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

The COVID-19 global pandemic is an unprecedented challenge, which can cause increased worry, stress, anxiety, and confusion for students and adults. During this time of Distance Learning, school counselors, psychologists, social workers and multicultural liaisons are available as resources to families.
We are celebrating St. Louis Park as we begin the 2019-20 school year! A special thanks to 2015 graduate Malik Augustus, who shared his voice to help us tell the story of how this community continues to put its Children First.
