The School Board recognizes that in certain situations it may be desirable to accelerate the placement of a student in instructional programs appropriate to the student’s academic, social, and personal development levels. For more information about the procedures for grade acceleration, contact the Superintendent’s office at 952-928-6001.

School Board Policy 503.1 states that “Families seeking early admission into kindergarten must submit a completed application form, two letters of recommendation from non-relatives, and a non-refundable testing fee to the District Office to cover the cost of professional testing and observation between January 1 and May 1 prior to the year of admission.”

2025-2026 Application for Early Admission

All data requests are to be submitted and processed through the Superintendent’s office. St. Louis Park Public Schools charges members of the public for copies of government data. These charges are authorized under Minnesota Statutes, section 13.03, subdivision 3 (c). Payment for gathering of data for review or copies must be made in advance payable to Independent School District 283.

News Media: Members of the news media can email Ashley Sukhu, Director of Communications, at sukhu.ashley@slpschools.org to receive the Public Request for Information form through the Communications Office. 

The Superintendent meets periodically throughout the school year with student leaders in Grades 5-12 to discuss District initiatives and gather input from the student perspective. Principals select students in Grade 5 to participate and those students remain active on the council through high school graduation.
