About the School Board
The Board of Education is made up of seven school district residents elected at-large to serve terms of four years. The board is the governing body responsible for setting direction and providing support for quality educational opportunities for all students served by the St. Louis Park School District. Further, the board is responsible for providing resources necessary to pursue its goals according to its policies; and monitor district performance to see that results are consistent with goals and policies.

The Board also holds Open Forum at each Business Meeting, which occur on the fourth Tuesday of every month. School Board Candidate Filing Period is August 2-16
(July 14, 2022) -- Two seats on the St. Louis Park Public Schools School Board will be up for election on November 8, 2022. One seat has a one-year term that will expire on December 31, 2023. A second seat has a three-year term that will expire on December 31, 2025. The two seats are currently held by board members Sarah Davis and Virginia Mancini, who were appointed by the School Board after the resignations of former board members Mary Tomback and Laura McClendon.
The candidate filing period to run for one of these two seats is August 2-16. A candidate must indicate at the time of filing if they intend to run for the one-year term or the three-year term.
To be eligible to run for a school board seat, a candidate must:
Be eligible to vote in Minnesota
Be at least 21 years old upon assuming office
Not be a candidate for another office in the upcoming election
Be a St. Louis Park resident for at least 30 days before the election
Candidates are required to fill out an Affidavit of Candidacy and pay a $2 filing fee. Candidates can file at the city clerk’s office, located at 5005 Minnetonka Blvd.
