Spanish Immersion
Park Spanish Immersion School (PSI) is one of St. Louis Park Public Schools' four elementary schools. Spanish Immersion is a great option for multilingual students and English Learners.
At PSI, students are immersed in the Spanish language while they learn classroom content. St. Louis Park Public Schools is working to increase the diversity of the student body at Park Spanish Immersion (PSI) by simplifying the admissions process and shifting enrollment priorities. While students at PSI are primarily instructed in Spanish, PSI is an excellent option for multilingual students. PSI offers English classes and programming to support students whose home language is not English.
Important Information
- The application for PSI is included in the regular Kindergarten enrollment form. A computerized lottery system is used to process enrollment applications and families will be notified of their placement in March.
- Kindergarten enrollment, including PSI application, is open until Feb. 13, 2024 at 4 p.m.
- Per the PSI Admissions policy, PSI has certain number of kindergarten spots available each year, with a limited number of those seats available for open enrollment. If more applications are received than spots available, the district conducts a lottery to determine enrollment per School Board Policy #545.
- The updated policy gives priority to enrolling siblings of currently enrolled students, students whose applications are related to an approved integration and achievement plan, children of the school district’s staff, and students who are native Spanish speakers. Additionally, the district gives priority to St. Louis Park residents.
- If you are not a resident of St. Louis Park, but seeking enrollment at PSI for your student, you must also complete an Open Enrollment Application.
- Please note that siblings of students already attending PSI are NOT automatically enrolled. Sibling preference for St. Louis Park residents will be considered ONLY if your family meets criteria as outlined in the PSI Admissions Policy and if the PSI Lottery Request Form is received by stated deadlines.
