The School Board for St. Louis Park Public Schools approved changes to the District’s Safe Learning Plan at a special meeting on Tuesday, December 22. District Administration will continue to monitor COVID-19 case counts in Hennepin County and locally in St. Louis Park, all safe learning model considerations, as well as guidance from state officials, and will consider updates to the District’s Safe Learning Plan when appropriate.
As a part of the process to hear stakeholder perspectives, Superintendent Osei will be hosting Listening Sessions over the course of this school year for students, parents/guardians, and staff to better understand the impact of the implementation of the District's educational delivery models. Even though we’re not physically in school, it’s important that you still call in when your child is sick – especially if it’s a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case. Our Health Services Team is here to help you even during distance learning to answer questions, work through guidance given by MN Department of Health, and support your family.
While the District is in the distance learning model, free meals will continue to be available to students and families. The District will continue to utilize five school sites as grab-and-go pickup locations on Mondays and Wednesdays between 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Please note that that the Middle School is no longer a free meals distribution site due to the fact that the school kitchen is under construction. The High School and four elementary schools will continue to serve as distribution sites.
A new Elementary Family Handbook has been published and is now available on each of the four elementary school websites under both the Parent Resources tab and the Find it Fast section. The handbook includes important contact information, quick facts about each school, and important school board policies that impact students and families.
The NEW St. Louis Park Schools Family Tech Help site is located at https://slpfamilytechhelp.blogspot.com/. Please look here for solutions to common technical problems that you may have with a student device. If you are in need of additional, specific assistance, you can email a technician at familytechhelp@slpschools.org or leave a message at 952-928-6056.
Please click "Read More" to watch a video with instructions on how to create a PowerSchool parent account as well as information about some of the features available once you have an account created.
The COVID-19 global pandemic is an unprecedented challenge, which can cause increased worry, stress, anxiety, and confusion for students and adults. During this time of Distance Learning, school counselors, psychologists, social workers and multicultural liaisons are available as resources to families.
We are celebrating St. Louis Park as we begin the 2019-20 school year! A special thanks to 2015 graduate Malik Augustus, who shared his voice to help us tell the story of how this community continues to put its Children First.
