Baseball Team Advances to State Tournament
The St. Louis Park High School baseball team advanced to this year's State Tournament with a 7-0 victory over Hopkins on Monday, June 6. It will be the school's first appearance in the State Baseball Tournament since 1952. The team received the No. 5 seed in the Class AAAA State Tournament and will play a quarterfinal game against the No. 4 seed Maple Grove at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at CHS Field in St. Paul. Senior Tommy Tight Qualifies for State Golf Tournament
Senior Tommy Tight will represent St. Louis Park at the State Golf Tournament on June 14-15 at Bunker HIlls Golf Club in Coon Rapids. Tight is scheduled to tee off at 8:51 a.m. in the first round on Tuesday, June 14.
Hokenson Named Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year
Senior baseball player Kris Hokenson has been named the Star Tribune's Metro Player of the Year. As Star Tribune reporter Ron Haggstrom explains, "Hokenson has been outstanding for the Orioles the past two seasons. A lefthander, he is one of the best two-way players in the country, excelling on the mound and at the plate." Click here to read the entire article.
