St. Louis Park High School’s concurrent college enrollment program offers students an excellent opportunity to earn college credits at a fraction of the cost, all while staying on school grounds. This program, in partnership with the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, allows students to dive into rigorous college-level courses taught by trained SLPHS teachers, equipping them with both academic and financial advantages.
A recent survey revealed impressive outcomes for students at St. Louis Park High School. Not only did 83% of participants earn a “C” or better in their courses, but they also saved a significant amount: students earned $40,143.60 worth of college credits for only $2,610 in fees, with an additional $946.26 in state aid. This financial edge makes a meaningful impact, reducing the costs of college for students and their families.

Student Feedback on the Program
Survey results from alumni show the program’s lasting impact: 97-98% would recommend the program to other students, and 84-88% report feeling better prepared for college. Compared with Minnesota’s Advanced Placement (AP) results, students have a higher success rate in qualifying for college credit, with over 90% of students earning a grade of “C” or better compared to 67% of MN AP exams scoring 3 or higher. Students pursuing concurrent college enrollment see higher participation and success rates among students of color than AP, reflecting the accessibility and impact of concurrent enrollment.
