AP Environmental Science Students Achieve Outstanding Results

Each spring, students in AP (Advanced Placement) classes complete college-level exams that can earn college credit and placement in university-level courses. Students who score a 3 or higher on the 1-to-5 scale can receive college credit.

This year, 46 environmental science students took the exam outperforming many across the nation. 91 percent of SLP student participants earned a score of 3 or higher. The average score was 3.74, compared to 3.30 statewide and 3.04 globally. These scores reflect the hard work and determination that our students brought to the classroom every day.

Beyond the numbers, AP environmental science students explored critical issues including sustainability and the interconnectedness of ecosystems. They learned to think like scientists, engage in complex problem-solving, and use data to inform decisions. These skills will serve them well in college and in life.

Congratulations to these students on this outstanding accomplishment, and thank you to the dedicated teachers and staff who supported students throughout this rigorous course. Their guidance and encouragement helped create an environment where students could showcase their brilliance!
