The St. Louis Park Public Schools School Board on March 18 announced Dr. Carla Hines as the next superintendent, pending contract negotiations.
“After an extensive search, we're thrilled to announce Dr. Hines as our top choice for the next superintendent of St. Louis Park Public Schools,” shared Board Chair Colin Cox. “While both finalists posed unique strengths, Dr. Hines’ experience and values aligned powerfully with the district’s mission and core values. Her educational leadership, dedication to student academic success, and vision for racial equity transformation is impressive and I'm confident she'll lead our district with integrity and passion, advancing our strategic plan.”
Dr. Hines shared, “I am humbled and elated by the opportunity to serve as the next Superintendent of St. Louis Park Public Schools. With a steadfast commitment to see, empower, and inspire each student, I look forward to collaboratively shaping a future where every student's brilliance is realized and celebrated.”

School board designees will begin negotiations of the employment contract with Dr. Hines. The school board is slated to approve the contract at the March 26, 2024, regular board meeting. Dr. Hines’ superintendency is anticipated to take effect no later than July 1, 2024.
