On Friday, May 2, St. Louis Park High School senior Eleanor Lindeman was honored with the Athena Award. The Athena Award is given to one senior female athlete from each participating school who has distinguished herself in a special individual athletic achievement or superior achievements in one or more sports. The annual award, which celebrates excellence in athletics, leadership, and academics, was presented during a banquet celebrating top student-athletes across the metro area.
Eleanor has been a committed athlete and she has made her mark at St. Louis Park through her remarkable dedication and performance in three demanding sports: cross country, Nordic skiing, and track and field. Whether she is studying in a classroom, racing up snowy hills, or sprinting on tracks, Nora has consistently demonstrated determination, perseverance, and a strong team spirit.
"I've enjoyed meeting and forming relationships with others who share my interest in sports," she shared.
Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Eleanor has balanced her training schedule with academic focus and a commitment to her future. In the fall, she will attend St. Catherine University, where she plans to study physical therapy—a fitting path for someone who understands the strength and resilience of the human body. She will also continue her athletic journey, running cross country and track in college.
When asked what advice she would give to younger athletes, she kept it simple: “Stick with it. Keep going to practice and work hard.”
Congratulations to Eleanor Lindeman on this recognition!
