Senior Sarah Tirado Named Wallin Scholar

For Sarah Tirado, being named a Wallin Scholar is more than just a scholarship – it's a launchpad for the future.

"I chose to apply for the Wallin Scholarship because it's a great opportunity not only for financial assistance, but also for college and career guidance and advising," said Sarah, a senior at St. Louis Park High School. “The support it provides beyond the money really stood out to me.”

Sarah’s high school journey is a testament to commitment and balance. This year, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook, captain of the tennis team, participated in multiple clubs, and worked a part-time job – all while maintaining strong academics.

"We are thrilled Sarah Tirado was honored with this life-changing opportunity. Sarah's hard work, resilience, and leadership embody the best of St. Louis Park High School," said Kara Mueller, Career and College Coordinator/CTE Coordinator.

“One academic challenge I faced was figuring out how to balance everything,” she said. “At the beginning of senior year, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find time for schoolwork on top of everything else.”

But Sarah’s drive and enthusiasm helped her push through. “My passion for all areas of my involvement helped me stay motivated and manage my responsibilities,” she said.

Sarah was chosen from among thousands of applicants across the Twin Cities area. The Wallin Education Partners Scholarship recognizes high-achieving students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to their community. The selection process considers GPA, financial need, personal character, and a thoughtful application essay.

This fall, Sarah will attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she plans to explore new academic interests and continue building toward a meaningful career.

Congratulations, Sarah!
