    Dear Students and Families:

    In a few short weeks, we will begin the 2019-2020 school year. Our first day of school this year is Tuesday, September 3, 2019. The staff at the High School is looking forward to a great year! Our school day hours are: 8:20 a.m. until 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 8:40 a.m. until 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. The first week of school, we will be starting at 8:20 a.m. every day and running a modified schedule.

    Grade Specific Back to School Documents

    Please visit our website to view documents specific to your student’s grade level. Under “Find it Fast” click on “Back to School Documents” tab to view or print the documents as needed. Documents included are:

    Driver Education information & registration forms can be found on the High School website under Activities. Forms will also be available in the Student Office at the start of the school year.

    Schedules, Pictures and Parking Permits

    Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 please see Counseling Office Information letter on the website for the dates to make corrections on schedules. All students will receive an updated schedule on the first day of school. Students in 9th grade will receive their schedules on Freshman Orientation Day, Wednesday, August 28, 2019.

    Picture day for students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade will be on Wednesday, September 4th in the Small Gym.  Lifetouch information is included in this packet.  If you plan to order pictures from Lifetouch, please bring a check to school on the day you have your picture taken. Please make checks payable to Lifetouch.

    Seniors will not have their picture taken unless they are new to the school or did not have their picture taken last year. Seniors student ID cards will be created from their Junior year picture.

    Re-take picture day will be Friday, October11, 2019.

    Parking permits are $50.00 per semester and are sold on a first-come first-serve basis. All outstanding obligations need to be cleared before purchasing a parking permit. They are limited and do sell out. Permit sales will begin on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Cars without permits are subject to being towed.

    Student Handbook

    During the first week of school, each student will electronically review several important policies in the Student Handbook, during advisory, and will electronically sign off that they understand each policy.

    Several items have been modified, and more information will be provided at Freshmen Orientation and at Grade Level Assemblies. Advisory teachers will be reviewing information with students.

    Please refer to the Student Handbook on our website which will be posted after the start of the school year.

    Closed Campus

    We have a closed campus at St. Louis Park High School. This includes leaving the building to go to McDonaldsSeniors have open campus only during their scheduled lunchtime. 

    *If students need to leave for appointments, etc., we ask that a call be made to the student office at 952-928-6100.  A pass can be prepared for the student and picked up by the student during the day. A student may also bring a note to the Student Office, and a pass will be written for the student to excuse them from class at the necessary time. Pick your student up from the Student Office, from the new front entrance.

    Change of Address/Phone Number

    If your home address, email address, or phone numbers (cell, home, or work) change, please call Kiki Christensen at 952-928-6102 with the updated information.  Accurate information provides for successful family communication and timely delivery of any communications.

    Attendance Calls

    Students are expected to be in class each hour.  When a student misses a class, a parent/guardian has 24 hours to call 952-928-6045 and excuse the absence with an appropriate excuse. Any absence not excused within 24 hours will remain unexcused. Students can not excuse themselves.
