Students Choosing to Opt Out of the Graduation Commencement Ceremony

While we would love to have all of our seniors participate in graduation, we understand that some of our students and families may be uncomfortable coming together at this time. Students who wish to opt out of the SLPHS commencement on June 8 are invited to come to the stadium on Monday, June 7 at 4 p.m.

    Student Opt Out Form

Students will be able to take pictures, walk across the stage and receive their diploma cover. For our planning purposes we need families to let us know their preference in advance of June 7th. If you prefer NOT to participate in the commencement for health and safety reasons, please complete the opt out form as soon as possible.

    Attire for Graduates

Cap, Gown, Stoles, and Graduation Tassels are required to walk across the stage. Absolutely no spiked heels or stilettos allowed on the turf field.

    COVID Precautions at Graduation

St. Louis Park Public Schools is closely monitoring and in compliance with the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) in the “COVID-19 Universal Guidance for All Businesses and Entities.”

If you have questions or concerns after graduation you should contact the Minnesota Department of Health Hotline at 1-833-431-2053.

    LIVE Streaming Video

Those who choose not to participate in the stadium ceremony are encouraged to watch the live stream of the event. The link to the livestream will be shared in the days prior to graduation.

    Photography

Due to COVID Guidelines, we encourage families and students to take pictures prior to graduation.  Official graduation photos will be taken by Lifetouch. A photographer will be taking photos as graduates come down from the stage and throughout the ceremony. Lifetouch will contact students/families after graduation with details about the photos.
