St. Louis Park Public Schools held the first meeting of the School Start-End Times Study Project Team on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Lenox Community Center.
This team of 27 individuals from all St. Louis Park Public Schools stakeholder groups (students, parents, teachers, principals, administrators and transportation consultants), is charged with determining the optimal schedule to meet the overall health, academic and social/developmental needs of all K-12 students. This work will include recommendations for bus routes and pick-up/drop-off times for all students and will consider the school day as well as before-school and after-school activities.
Project Team members will meet in a series of four meetings from November through March before putting forth a recommendation to the School Board.
Stakeholders not on the Project Team will have two opportunities – in January and February – to engage in the process and give input/feedback. More information about these public input opportunities will be announced soon.
