Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Returning to St. Louis Park on Dec. 11

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will return to St. Louis Park on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, with a stop near the intersection of W. Lake Street and Library Lane in the Historic Walker Lake neighborhood. The festivities will start at 4 p.m., with the Holiday Train's estimated arrival at 6 p.m. The concert from the train will take place from 6:15-6:45 p.m. and will feature Meghan Patrick, Tanika Charles and Kelly Prescott.

The event is free, but attendees are asked to bring food or a financial donation for the local food shelf -- St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP).

The mission of the Holiday Train is to address food insecurity and bring awareness of hunger in the communities it stops. The train is about 1,000 feet in length with 14 brightly decorated rail cars. Each car is decorated with hundreds of thousands of LED lights and holiday designs. At the stop, the stage door lowers from one of the cars and the band opens. The music program is a mix of traditional and modern holiday songs and lasts about 30 minutes.
