Sixth Grader Qualifies for Minnesota State Geography Bee
Congratulations to Arun Ferran-Sapatnekar, a sixth grader at St. Louis Park Middle School, for qualifying for the 2019 National Geographic Minnesota State GeoBee.
Ferran-Sapatnekar is one of 100 students to qualify for the state competition, which will be held on March 29 at the University of Minnesota.
Winners at the state level receive a cash prize and trip to Washington, D.C., to compete for the National Championship in mid-May.
About the GeoBee
The National Geographic GeoBee is an annual competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Students in grades four through eight from nearly 10,000 schools across the United States will compete in the 2019 National Geographic GeoBee for a chance to win college scholarships. Over more than three decades, 120 million students have learned about the world though participation in the GeoBee.
