Kara Cisco Honored by Minnesota Council for the Social Studies
St. Louis Park High School Social Studies Teacher Kara Cisco has been named the Minnesota Council for the Social Studies (MCSS) High School Teacher of the Year for 2020. Cisco has taught for St. Louis Park Public Schools since 2016.
Each year, MCSS honors four Teachers of the Year (elementary, middle school, high school and lifetime achievement) at its annual awards dinner. Award recipients are nominated by colleagues, supervisors, parents, and students and exemplify the best of social studies teaching in Minnesota.
Nominees are invited to apply by submitting a resume, lesson plan or classroom activity, two letters of recommendation, and a personal statement. Cisco and the other 2020 Teacher of the Year recipients will be honored at the MCSS Awards Dinner on Sunday, March 1 at the Mankato Civic Center.
