Junior Thor Anderson Earns Perfect Score on ACT Exam

St. Louis Park High School junior Thor Anderson recently learned that he earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36.

Typically, less than one half of 1% of students who take the ACT earn a perfect score. Of the 1.8 million U.S. high school students who took the ACT in 2019, only 4,878 earned a perfect score. The ACT is a college-readiness exam that measures skills in English, Math, Reading, and Science.

“I was really happy to find out about my score,” Anderson said. “I had spent some time preparing, and had taken the test previously, so I knew what to expect, but I still did much better than I expected.”

Anderson is a co-leader of the High School’s environmental club Roots and Shoots, participates in Quiz Bowl, is a member of the German Club, and plays percussion in pit for the school’s musicals.

Anderson says he enjoys studying both world languages and music and that his favorite classes are German and Band.

“Because I like each of these subjects so much, I also study each outside of school, and I am learning Norwegian, trumpet and organ,” he said.
